5 Fantasy Series That I Absolutely Love

I love fantasies books. Whenever I felt bored and tired I like to read these type of books wherein these world there is so much fun going on. It always fascinating to me to enter worlds of magic and kings and queens, kingdoms. In this post, I will share my favourites fantasy series. There are not in any particular order.

  • The Dark Tower By Stephen King

Stephen King has written a lot of books on various genres. and I have read lots of them but still, this series will be always in my top favourites. In this series the protagonist, The Roland Deschain of Gilead is on a jounery to The dark tower. All the parallel world hold steady and safe because of this dark tower. And now it is starting to collapse. No one knows why. Along with this journey, Roland encounter lots of adventures.

  • Realm of the Elderlings By Robin Hobb (mostly books focus on Fitz and the Fool)

This entire series is subdivided into 4 trilogies and a quartet. 3 trilogy which focuses on Fitz is the Farseer trilogy, the Tawny Man trilogy, the Fitz and the Fool trilogy accordingly. This was the first fantasy series that I started reading. All books concerning The Fitz and fool and told in Fitz pov. Where series start with Fitz as a child who comes to court as a royal bastard. And his story goes on till he became old. It was interesting in all 9 books where we see character live entire life from childhood to old age. Though starting of the series is kind of slow it has great characters and a story filled with magic. There are 2 other book series in this world, there are also great to read but still story of Fitz and fool has soft spot for me.

  • The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit By  J. R. R. Tolkien

I probably do not have to write what this series all about.  Probably everyone has read them or watch movie adaptations. It is one of my favourites. Though I read them much later as already had watch movies. But It turned out that the book has many amazing things which were not there in movies. It was quite awesome to read anytime. There is another book called The Silmarillion which I haven’t read yet. But probably will read it in near future.

  • A Song of Ice and Fire By George R. R. Martin

After the Grand failure of the game of thrones Tv series, I started reading books. G. R.R. Martin is great. It is quite amazing to read where He created the entire universe with lots of lands, their houses, their history and their religion. And everything is written in so much depth. Also, the book is similar to tv series but later on, the plot is totally different from tv series. Though this series has not been completed yet.

  • The Witcher By Andrzej Sapkowski

This fantasy series revolves around Geralt of Rivia the witcher who hunts monsters and kills them for money. The first 2 books of this series are short story collection which gives various tales of The witcher adventures and rest are no els which start with the main plot of series. This series is based on Slavic mythology. Many myths, monster and supernatural things from Slavic mythology are adapted in this series.

My to be read list just got longer. My husband and I watched THE WITCHER and liked it. You have encouraged me to read the books. We also liked THE DARK TOWER. I’ve only read THE STAND by Stephen King. I’ll have to give that one a try as well as the Robin Hobb books. Thanks for the suggestions.

I loved, and still love, the Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey. Anything by David Eddings is good – I loved Garion, he was so put upon and frustrated sometimes, as anyone would be. Polgara was such a mom.
